baby your B3

If you have ever had the joy of touring with a Hammond B3, you know that there are just about a million different things that can (and probably will) break. Routine maintenance is necessary on these organs, they have a lot of moving parts and even more solder points.  I got my first touring job because I was able to perform normal maintenance on B3s (and I wasn’t scared to pull the back off and start digging).

Learning/doing normal maintenance on a B3 allows you to become familiar and comfortable inside this monster.

Here is a video showing some oil maintenance and percussion repair (percussion repair starts at 5:30).
